Brisk

Word of the day: Brisk

Def.
Brisk - adjective.  1) Active, fast, and energetic.  2) (of the weather or wind) Cold but fresh and enlivening.

Brisk describes it all!!!  The wind has finally stopped.
It had been blowing 90 to none to nothing all through the night and into this evening.
I had a few errands to run in town. I dreaded the thought of going outside into the cold. But one of the errands was to take Gus to the vet for his big dog shots!  He has gotten so big...

But back to the wind as soon as I walked outside I was immediately slapped in the face by it.  I'm so happy there is a big stack of square bales on the west end of the house. It's blocking the artic air.

This little house is still cold, and chilly. But we are doing the best we can!

Well thats all I got to report as of now...so enjoy some photos from the last dusting of snow.  It maybe melted away for now, but the threat is still in the air.

  1. The cold I can handle...but that wind is what tears right through you. We usually have quite a bit of wind, but this year's be relatively calm...thank goodness.

    Love those eyes of Gus!

  2. We've had that wind here too, for a while it was blowing out the pilot light in our heater so we had to keep relighting it - no fun! But thankfully it's died down, I'm still done with this cold weather though and ready for spring!

  4. Oh My this morning was cold. Going to by-pass brisk! I let the dogs out on my way to the coffee pot and heard the wind.

I had to break ice on a waterer. At least it was cold enough the ice on my shoes and snow pants didn't melt. I did have to work at getting the ice off my glasses ... lol! I am glad for the Ranger to protect me from the wind and take the edge off the cold.

All in the life of a Ranch Wife. Sounds like tomorrow will not be so cold.
